Kerry Is Within Striking Distance in Virginia

The Washington Post has announced that Virginia is getting bluer and bluer. Republican Attorney General Jerry Kilgore of Virginia has sounded the alarm. (He is the chairman of Bush's "re-" election campaign.)

Kilgore writes: "Many experts will tell you, Virginia is in play.......polls show [Kerry] is within striking distance of the President."

    As Theodore Roethke once wrote:

"IN A DARK TIME, THE EYE BEGINS TO SEE."

We can hope that the voters are seeing through the ridiculous glitz, and the 'smooth talk' -- of course that is an oxymoron considering how GWB speaks with marbles in his mouth. Beware the flaring nostrils of arrogance, and the veep's sneers. So says ... mcHaiku.
